More Ways to save ( Homemade house hold Products)


As you know trying to stretch a dollar today is next to impossible. It's all I can do to go to the store and spend tons of money on household products, food, and so on. We just don't realize how much we can save by making our own cleaning and other household products. An YES! they really work... I started 6months ago making my own. I started out making my own Laundry Detergent, and before I new it ,I was making all kinds of product that work so much better then the store brands.... I have listed some of my Homemade recipes below:

HOMEMADE CLEANING KIT (these are the products you will need to get started)

1. Super Washing Soap ( can be found on laundry isle)
2. Baking soda
3. Essential oil ( pick your favorite scent)
4. Liquid soap or detergent
5. Vinegar (white)
6. Peroxide
7. Rubbing Alcohol
8. Cream of tarter
9. Bleach
10. Bars of Fels-Naptha Soap ( can be found on laundry isle)
11. Oxy-clean ( for homemade detergent)
12. fabric softener( cheap brand will be fine)
13. 4 mason jars
14. 8 spray bottles ( always have a few extra)
15. Marker( always remember to write the names on your bottles)
16. Large box of Borax ( find on the laundry isle)

HOMEMADE FEBREEZE

2 cups Water (hot!)
1/4 cup of Fabric softener
1 tbsp Baking Soda

Place all ingredients, Shake well . Spray on any surface and enjoy the smell.

HOMEMADE OXY-CLEAN

1 cup Water
1/2 cup Baking Soda
1/2 cup peroxide

Put all ingredients in bottle/ jug. Shake gently.  Use 1/2cup in your load of laundry.

HOMEMADE LAUNDRY DETERGENT

76oz Box of Borax
55oz Box of Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soap
4lb Box of Arm & Hammer Baking Soda
3.5lbs of Oxy-Clean ( Store brand is fine)
3 bars of Fels-Naptha Soap
1 Bucket or Ex large Jar ( Like a Huge Cookie Jar)

Grate your Fel-Naptha Bars first in a large bowl. Then add all other ingredients together mix well. You only need 2 tablespoons pre wash. This is a strong recipe so you don't have to use anywhere near what you use of the store brands.

For my storage bin I reused my 5 gallon cat litter bucket.. Those Buckets really come in handy....

HOMEMADE BATHROOM FRESHENER

1 2/3 cups Water
1/3 cup Vinegar
1 tsp. Essential Oil

Mix well in spray bottle. Spray once a day in your tub, sink ,etc. to keep you bathroom smelling clean...

HOMEMADE BATHROOM CLEANER

1 tsp. Liquid Dish Soap
1/4 tsp. Essential oil
1 cup Baking Soda
   Water

Combine all ingredients add just enough water to make a paste. Place all over surface and let sit for about 5 minutes then scrub with sponge or brush.

HOMEMADE WASHING MACHINE CLEANER

1qt. Chlorine Bleach
1 qt. Vinegar

Top Loaders: Pour Bleach in machine and run on the longest cycle, Use the Hot Water setting. When done and Washer is still wet run vinegar thru using the same settings. Let dry before using again.

Front Loaders: Pour bleach in detergent dispenser. Use the same settings as Top loaders, Then repeat with vinegar.

ALL PURPOSE CLEANER

1/2 tbsp. Washing Soap
A dab of  Dish washing Soap
2 cups of Hot Water

Combine all ingredients, Shake well in your spray bottle until Washing Soap is dissolved. Spray surface and wipe clean.

HOMEMADE WINDOW CLEANER

1/4 to 1/2 tsp Liquid Detergent
3tbsp. White Vinegar
2 cups Water
Spray bottle
Newspaper

Put all ingredients into your spray bottle. Shake well.  Spray and wipe clean using your old newspapers.


These are really inexpensive ways to make great products of your own, Their fun to make and you save alot of money at the same time.. I hope you enjoy these as much as I have.
